About the Event
Dr. Marcia Clark is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon and clinical professor at the University of Calgary. She specializes in complex joint reconstruction and general orthopedics, with a patient-centred approach that emphasizes empathy, shared decision-making and high-quality surgical care.
Dr. Clark is a respected educator and mentor. Her academic leadership includes curriculum development, faculty development and national contributions to surgical education standards. Dr. Clark’s research program focuses on perioperative outcomes and patient experience in total joint arthroplasty, clinical simulation, biomechanics, hip and knee arthroplasty, gender diversity in surgeons and the environmental impact of surgery. She supports researchers in these areas and has several peer reviewed articles. Dr. Clark is currently investigating the impacts of sleep disturbance following arthroplasty surgery. Her work aims to inform patient-centred models of care and improve access and recovery across the surgical pathway.
