We are filling two (2) Board positions, effective January 1, 2026. Attendance is requested at the final Board meeting on December 9, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) as an observer.

About the CWIM Board of Directors

Canadian Women in Medicine (CWIM) is a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting women+ physicians in all aspects of their lives: personal, professional, and financial. 

The CWIM Board of Directors establishes the strategic plan for the organization. It directs its activities in the areas of wellness, advocacy, mentorship, and professional development, in collaboration with the Leadership Council (LC). 

The CWIM Board of Directors is seeking two visionary women+ physicians to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to our ever-growing grassroots organization. If you’re passionate about driving change, collaborating with a diverse team and making a lasting impact through fostering a supportive community for Canadian women+ physicians, we invite you to apply.

 

Eligibility

All CWIM Partners may apply. CWIM Leadership Council members may apply, but prior experience on the Leadership Council is not a requirement to apply for the Board.

Commitment

  • Monthly Board meetings via Zoom.

  • One in-person Annual General Meeting (Feb 6-8, 2026).

  • 3-4 general Leadership Council meetings per year.

  • Committee work and committee meetings as needed (time commitment will vary based on the committee). Most meetings will be held via Zoom.

 

Qualifications

Successful candidates will: 

  • Be able to attend all meetings of the Board and Leadership Council, and the annual CWIM Conference.

  • Serve as a Board Liaison for one of the Leadership Council committees. 

  • Have a desire to support and encourage their women colleagues in medicine. 

Some consideration will be given to geographic diversity. 

 

Term

1-year term beginning January 2026. The position is renewable for up to a total of 5 years. 

Honoraria

Board members will be paid an annual honorarium of $2,000 and receive complimentary registration to the CWIM Conference.  

Support

Board members will have access to administrative support (shared part-time administrator).

Please anticipate attending a Zoom interview scheduled in the last 2 weeks of October 2025. These dates will be confirmed soon.
